1. What GetWifi is
GetWifi is a crowd-sourced directory of guest WiFi networks at public and semi-public venues (airports, hotels, cafes, restaurants, malls and similar places). Network names (SSIDs) and passwords are submitted by users and by venue owners, and are shown to other users so they can connect for free.
2. Acceptable use / User-generated content
By submitting a WiFi network, password, review, photo, report, or any other content to GetWifi ("User Content"), you agree that:
- You will only submit passwords for guest/public WiFi networks that you are authorized to share — networks belonging to a venue you visited, or that the venue itself has published for guest use.
- You will not submit passwords for private, home, or corporate networks, or any network you do not have permission to disclose.
- You will not submit content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
- You will not submit spam, malware links, or content intended to deceive or harm other users or venues.
3. Zero-tolerance policy
GetWifi has zero tolerance for abusive, illegal, or objectionable User Content and for abusive behaviour towards other users or venues. Content that violates Section 2 will be removed, and accounts or devices repeatedly submitting such content will be permanently blocked from contributing.
4. Reporting content
Every venue and every password listed on GetWifi (web and mobile app) can be reported directly from its page. When you report content:
- Our moderation team reviews the report and, where the report is valid, removes or corrects the offending content within 24 hours.
- Repeat or serious violations result in the submitting account/device being blocked from further submissions.
- You can also report content or request removal by emailing [email protected] with a link to the venue/password and a description of the issue.
5. Accuracy disclaimer
WiFi network names, passwords, locations and other details are supplied by the community and by venue owners and are not verified by GetWifi for accuracy before publication. Networks may change their passwords, close, or move at any time. GetWifi provides this information "as is", without warranty of any kind, and is not liable for a network being unavailable, incorrect, or no longer matching the password shown.
6. Account & contribution rules
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of everything you submit. GetWifi may remove any content, suspend any account, or block any device identifier at its discretion, without prior notice, to protect the service and its users.
7. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of GetWifi (web or mobile app) after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
