WiFi by Terminal
Terminal 2 — The Queen's Terminal
Home to Star Alliance carriers including Lufthansa, United, and Singapore Airlines. T2 has excellent WiFi coverage throughout, including the new satellite building connected by an airside transit system.
Terminal 3
Terminal 3 hosts flights from American Airlines, Delta, and many Asian carriers. Coverage is solid, though the older terminal layout means some gate areas can have weaker signal.
Terminal 4
Primarily serving SkyTeam airlines, Terminal 4 is connected to the main campus by the Heathrow Express and a dedicated bus. WiFi coverage is complete throughout.
Terminal 5 — British Airways Home
T5 is the most modern terminal and has the best WiFi infrastructure at Heathrow. Speeds here are typically higher than other terminals, and coverage extends through the two satellite buildings (T5B and T5C).
Faster WiFi Options at Heathrow
If you need faster speeds for video conferencing or large file transfers:
- British Airways lounges (T3, T5): Dedicated high-speed WiFi for club and first class passengers and Gold members
- No1 Lounges and Club Aspire: Available for purchase, offer faster connectivity
- iPass and Boingo: Paid premium networks available at Heathrow
Transport Links from Heathrow
The Heathrow Express train to Paddington (15 minutes) does not have WiFi, but you can download what you need while still in the terminal. The Elizabeth line (purple line) to central London takes 40–60 minutes and has good mobile coverage in many sections.
Practical WiFi Tips for Heathrow
- Connect before going through security to test the network
- If speeds are slow in your gate area, walk to the main lounge area for better signal
- The Heathrow app includes offline terminal maps — download it before your trip
- Power sockets are available throughout terminals for charging — look near gate seating areas
